Blog #18

Oh god, getting caught up in a nuclear war would suck balls. I just watched a movie about it, I’m pretty much an expert on nuclear bombs and such now. So take my word on this folks. Nuclear bombs are bad news! Nothing good comes outta nuclear war. I’m not so worried about America going off and starting a nuclear war, it’s not Obama’s style. The Russians are hard as hell, but they’re not idiots and I don’t think they’re going to start shit anyways (no reason why I feel this way, I just like the cut of their jib). Same goes for most other countries with the bomb.  Not even worried about China, they have to much going for them to mess it up by destroying the world. It’s those sketchy countries I’m worried about, yeah I’m looking at you Pakistan and North Korea, please don’t start nuking stuff just to get some attention for your lame ass country. Thankfully Mozambique doesn’t have the bomb, because you know those are some crazy SOB’s and we’d all be screwed if they had the “bomb”.  Stupid Nuclear bombs are ruining my day, I hate nuclear bombs.
Know what I do like? Documentary movies. They are like reading, but in movie form. I have learned quite a bit via documentary films in the past week. For example, if you happen to be a dolphin, stay the hell away from Japan! Japanese fisherman do not find dolphins cute or playful at all. They hate them, oh man they hate them and they kill the shit outta them on a regular basis.  Also, according to no less than three films, Monsanto is the most evil corporation in the world, patenting seeds? What a bunch of dicks. I have learned that Donkey Kong is a hard video game, and one of the best players out there is an uberdouche. I watched a film on Mark Twain,it was very interesting and informative. Ironic that it took a movie to let me know what an amazing writer that man was.
So yeah, I’m still just chilling with brother Pete and sister Kristin down here in North Carolina. Hey everyone, we have a bit of a situation here. Kristin ate some crappy food or something and got all throw-uppy last night. That lady was not happy, quite ill indeed. We need her to recover, we need her to get well.  If sister Kristin dies then we are screwed. Here’s the scenario. First Kristin goes, then shortly thereafter Pete will be dead. The combination of sorrow and the fact that he can’t take care of himself will result in Pete being dead within a week. Then I’ll have to take care of their dogs, man those dogs are ridiculous, I’ll probably kill myself if it gets to that. So sister Kristin get well.
Other than the sick sister things are going quite well down here.  One last tough workout tomorrow and semi-long run on Sunday then it is taper time.  I’m going to admit it, I really don’t like the taper. I feel lazy and useless during the taper. The thing is I really like running, sometimes when I’m bored I’ll just go for run. It is fun to me. But during taper time I can’t do that. I have to focus on being fresh and ready to go come Jan 30th down Texas way.  DST knows this, I’ll probably get an e-mail a day telling me to chill out and relax.  I imagine that I can be annoying to coach sometimes;
Coach: “Hey Rob, so here’s the race plan, we have to be smart here, be patient…ect…”
Me: “Okay coach, sounds good”
*gun goes off*
Me “AHHH, FADE FROM THE FRONT!!!”
Coach: *shakes head in disgust*
Dave, I promise to be good in Houston. I will stick to the plan!
So you remember Blog 13? Wanna see a funny take on this? This is courtesy of EST (Erica Scott-Thomas)

So bottom left, that’s me at the end of nationals. Look how she really captured the despair in my face as my legs turn to rubber.  I have no idea what that smiley face is doing there, there was nothing to smile about in that situation. And then bottom right, that’s me again. That’s me writing blog #13. Ha, what an awesome picture. Good job EST.
Out!
